Bill Beckwith: Chief Technology Officer, Co-Founder

Bill Beckwith has guided the growth of OIS while playing a critical role in the development of cutting-edge communications software products. Bill’s strong emphasis on ethics, product quality, and customer success have positioned OIS as a global leader in secure, real-time communications software and hardware products with over 3,000 active customers using OIS technologies in more than $150 billion of mission critical systems around the world. His dedication to and support of the OIS team have attracted the world-class management and engineering talent that drives the intellectual engine creating and supporting the company’s incredible products.

Bill has over 30 years of experience in management, finance, engineering, and business development. Prior to OIS, his career included software and telecommunications companies including Interbase Software Corp., Systems Center Inc., UCCEL, Inc., STSC, Inc. and MCI Communications, Inc. He has Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and in Finance from Florida State University and has passed the Certified Public Accounting exam. Bill attended George Washington University while in high school and competed in mathematics competitions.

Joseph M. Jacob: Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary

Joseph M. Jacob leads the company’s legal affairs and international business development. His responsibilities include corporate governance and securities, compliance, regulatory, contractual matters, intellectual property, real estate, litigation and labor and employment. Joe joined OIS in 2003. Prior to joining OIS, Joe’s work experience included leading the international business development and strategy function for America Online, Inc., as well as being the chief international lawyer for Viacom and its subsidiaries.

Joe received his J.D. degree from the Harvard Law School, where he was Senior Editor of the Harvard International Law Journal. He received his B.A. degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a double major in economics and political science. Joe is admitted to the New York, Illinois and Virginia bars. He is admitted to the bar of the U.S. Supreme Court, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
